Area(s): The Legal Aid Bureau of Metropolitan Family Services provides
free legal services in consumer, tenant-landlord, and housing law to
low-income residents living in the areas served by the Calumet Center
and the Midway Center of Metropolitan Family Services. Services include,
but are not limited to, landlord-tenant disputes, code compliance,
representation of Section 8 tenants facing eviction or conditions
issues, payday loan abuse, defense against illegal debt collection,
foreclosures. We do not take bankruptcy cases, but will make referrals.
